Was Judy mir geschrieben hat! Mein eigener Eindruck folgt wenn ich da bin ;D
Judy:
Christmas is celebrated on Christmas day, not Christmas Eve. Although some families have celebrations on Christmas Eve. We have a family get together on Christmas Eve, Santa come Christmas morning, then we go over mommoms (grandmom) for dinner on Christmas day. We all usually go the movies that night there are about 20 of us that go.
For Thanksgiving I cook a big meal. we usually have some friends and family join us. It is a quiet day with good food.
Halloween people (kids) dress up and go trick or treating - get candy from people. most of the exchange students go too since they never do this at home.
We also have Labor Day and Memorial Day that will often be days for outdoor picnics. The 4th of July is a big holiday here as well, with fireworks at night.
Some families do give out their gifts on Christmas Eve. When the family gets together we do exchange gifts then with them. But our immediate family waits until the morning. I do put up a lot of Christmas decorations - We have 2 big trees, and 1 small tree ( a table top its only 2 feet tall) and a lot of greenery decorations. I have a Santa Claus collection and Snowman collection. We also sometimes put out an entire snow village - with houses and people. We did put that up this year for the fiirst time in a while. We also put out Christmas lights outside.
Puuu, das waren ganz schöne Infos. Verdaut das erstmal ;D
Gleich kommt schon das nächste!
